My name is Yoonju Choi, a junior Architectural Design major. During this Summer 2017, I was an intern at Litas Academy in Korea. I found this academy few years ago from internet and I always wanted to work here. I called the academy and asked for the internship and they said to bring the resume. My supervisor was the boss of Litas Academy. He helped me a lot with building the relationship with other employees and students. Litas Academy is where students, before college and college students, learn art. There are more than 30 people who teaches and give advice to students about their art work. Litas Academy has students from different countries and teachers who can speak multiple languages to teach them. Students can learn different types of art, such as, architecture, graphic design, fine art, etc.
I was a teacher’s assistance but intern. I helped students’ art work. I tried to talk to students everyday about their art work, like how to develop their work. Giving advices to students were hard because I was uncomfortable explaining my thoughts to other students. The biggest challenge was working with very talented employees. They were thinking different and explaining their thoughts with different choice of words. Also, memorizing students’ and employees’ names were hard. I developed my talking skills, like telling other students my thoughts. Also, learning how to teach students draw architecturally. I was not comfortable teaching students, however, teaching students made me think deep about my art works.
